Welcome to North Idaho Christian School

North Idaho Christian School is a ministry of Anthem Church. Founded in 1981, NICS serves students in grades one through twelve. There are 200+ students enrolled, served by a staff of 29 born-again Christians who love their Lord and the children they serve. NICS is a non-denominational school drawing its students from over 30 local churches.

Our primary mission is to train up Christian leaders, young people of integrity, who will serve God and man in whatever setting God places them as young adults. NICS offers its students daily Bible class, weekly chapels, spiritual retreats and ministry oriented community service. Our Christian teachers and staff members are the students’ “living curriculum”, setting a Christ-like example for the students with humility and dependency on the Lord for daily success in life.

NICS prepares students for college. Our college bound students are scoring well above average on their standardized tests. NICS offers four years of laboratory sciences, (Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics), four years of higher mathematics (Algebra I, Geometry, Advanced Algebra, Trigonometry/Calculus), four years of college prep English, and a variety of social studies, liberal and practical arts classes.

NICS believes in a strong partnership with parents and church, with the primary responsibility of a child’s education resting squarely upon the parents. NICS desires to come along side parents to support and uphold the Christian values that born-again families hold dear. Jesus Christ is preeminent in all that we do here at North Idaho Christian School. The most complete education is one where Jesus Christ is at the center of its program. Feel free to stop by the school, take a look around, or join us for the day. I would love to share with you further about the benefit of a Christian education.

Each family is required to volunteer 15 hours per year. There are a variety of ways to do this from working at home to helping with our annual auction.

What curriculum is used at NICS?

The administration and staff evaluate our curriculum to see what best meets the needs of our students. Most, but not all, of our curriculum is from Christian publishers. However, regardless of the curriculum used, all classes are taught from a biblical worldview.

Is financial aid available?

NICS is committed to enrolling students who desire to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. It is the goal of our school to help as many families as possible be able to afford a Christian education. We have partnered with Covenant Tuition Services (CTS) to process all applications for families requesting financial aid.
