This Privacy Policy explains how North Idaho Christian School ("NICS", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares information when you visit www.northidahochristianschool.com (the "website") and what choices you have. It applies to this website only. It does not cover the school's student records or the separate systems we link to, such as FACTS, which have their own privacy policies.

Information you give us

When you send us a message through the Contact Us form or the Schedule a Tour form, we collect what you enter: your first name, last name, email address, phone number (optional) and your message. We use it to reply to you, to arrange a visit and to keep a record of your request.

Please don't include sensitive information, such as health or financial details or information about a student's records, in a website form. Call or email the school office instead.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the website, some information is collected automatically:

  • Hosting and security (Cloudflare). The website is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request in order to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
  • Spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile). Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated bots. Turnstile processes information about your browser and how you interact with the page. It is a security measure and runs on pages with a form whether or not analytics cookies are allowed.
  • Analytics (Google Analytics 4). We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, for example which pages are visited and how people arrive at the site. Google Analytics uses cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) and collects information like approximate location, device and browser type and pages viewed.
  • Usage insights (Microsoft Clarity). We use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use our pages, through aggregated heatmaps and session recordings of clicks, scrolling and mouse movement. Clarity uses cookies (such as _clck and _clsk). Text typed into form fields is masked so that it isn't recorded.

We do not use advertising pixels, and we do not sell or rent your personal information.

Cookies and your choices

Analytics cookies are on by default. You can turn them off at any time with the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page. When you opt out, we stop loading Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, remove their cookies from your browser and remember your choice with a cookie named cookie_consent for 12 months.

Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out and do not load Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies does not stop you from using the website.

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • respond to your messages and tour requests;
  • run, secure and improve the website;
  • understand which information families look for, so that we can make it easier to find;
  • protect the website and our forms from spam and abuse;
  • comply with the law.

How information is shared

We share information only with service providers that help us run the website, and only for that purpose:

  • Cloudflare — website hosting, security, Turnstile spam protection and delivery of form notification emails to the school office;
  • Supabase — secure storage of form submissions so that school staff can review them;
  • Google — Google Analytics;
  • Microsoft — Microsoft Clarity;
  • Bentliquid — the agency that builds and manages the website on the school's behalf.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of our students, families, staff or others.

How long we keep information

We keep form submissions for as long as we need them to respond to you and for the school's normal administrative records, and then delete them. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.

Children's privacy

This website is intended for parents, guardians and other adults. Our forms are for adults to contact the school, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the website, please contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

The website links to other websites and services, including FACTS (registration, the parent portal and financial aid applications), uniform suppliers, fundraising programs and our sponsors' websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. Please review their policies before giving them any information.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information submitted through the website, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on stored submissions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you from this website, to correct it, or to delete it. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
