Why does the world care that I finish high school?

Earning a high school diploma demonstrates perseverance, responsibility, and the ability to follow through on commitments. Colleges, military organizations, and employers view graduates as individuals who can be trusted to complete assignments, meet expectations, and remain dedicated to long-term goals. Completing high school reflects the character, discipline, and work ethic needed for future success in college, career, and life.

Is kindergarten licensed with the state of Idaho?

North Idaho Christian School is exempt from needing a license.

Why does North Idaho Christian School fundraise?

The goal of NICS is to keep education powered by Jesus as affordable to as many families as possible. The tuition payments alone do not cover the operating costs to educate students with Christian curriculum that exceeds the minimum education requirements. Our standardized tests consistently show our students outperform public school students by a large margin. The estimated cost to educate an Idaho public school student is $13,020. At NICS, the estimated cost per student is $6,635. Our desire to help students grow in Christ-like character and meet rigorous academic standards is the reason we choose to fundraise to fill in the tuition gap.

Does NICS encourage parent volunteers?

Each family is required to volunteer 15 hours per year. There are a variety of ways to do this from working at home to helping with our annual fundraiser.

What are the school hours?

NICS operates on a Monday through Thursday schedule. Kindergarten students attend classes from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Students in grades 1–3 attend from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., while grades 4–6 are in session from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Secondary students in grades 7–12 attend classes from 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Is NICS an accredited school?

Yes! We are accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), and Cognia (formerly AdvancEd). Additionally, the core high school courses have been approved by the NCAA. All agencies are recognized by the United States Department of Education.

Does being accredited mean government agencies dictate what you teach?

Absolutely not! We are first and foremost a school dedicated to Jesus Christ and teaching from a biblical worldview. We will never compromise our beliefs.

What are the tuition rates?

North Idaho Christian School is pleased to offer variable tuition to all new and returning families. Variable tuition is a need-based tuition assistance program.   Under variable tuition, families may pay as little as 50% of the full tuition rate. To find out if your family qualifies for variable tuition simply apply for Financial Grant and Aid Assessment through FACTS.
