December Newsletter

Merry Christmas! As we approach the holiday season, we are faced with yet another opportunity to pause in the midst of all the excitement, decorations, and commercialization, to consider again the origin of Christmas--the One whose birth we celebrate. Let's not forget the true meaning of why we celebrate during this time of year. Celebrate the baby Jesus and trust Him as Savior today.

Christmas Market Update….Wow...thank you Gary and Ashley Lalanne and many volunteers for putting on the annual Christmas Market. Thank you Kourtni and Kristine for running the kitchen. The Market raised $1796. Great work!

Teacher Recognition...Mindy Thom is being highlighted this month. Mindy comes to us with not only teaching experience but administrative experience as well. She has a Masters Degree from the University of Georgia and has served not only as a teacher but as a vice principal. Married with 3 lovely children, Mindy not only exudes her love for her own children but also those who attend NICS.  She is full of energy and ideas and we appreciate her.  Welcome and thank you Mindy!

We hope you enjoy time with your family and celebrating the best gift of all. Christmas Break is  December 20th—January 5th.

Volunteers Needed for the District Spelling Bee. We need volunteers to be here Friday, January 24th from 8 am—2 pm.  Please contact Mrs. Grinnell if interested.

The deadline to contribute to the Christmas Bonus and bless the NICS teachers and staff is approaching. Please have your gift in by Monday December 16th.

If you would like to join or find out more information about the NICS parent teacher organization, please contact Jennifer Scott. 208.691.8110

The NICS students have opened a coffee/drink bar. Currently open during lunch, this coffee/drink bar is giving students an opportunity to start a business, run a business, and learn how to make coffee stand drinks. Once the start up costs have been recovered, the drink bar will be used to fundraise for various student functions. We also hope to one day be a light in the community by offering free drinks on special occasions. Thank you for all who have given generously to make this possible.  We are looking for a few parent volunteers to cover shifts. If you are interested please give us your name on the sign up in front of the office. Thank you
